Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts (or 500g boneless chicken thighs), cut into bite-size pieces

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp dried oregano (or Italian seasoning)

  • Optional: ½ tsp chili flakes for heat

Directions

  • Preheat air fryer to 200°C / 400°F for 3 minutes.
  • Season the chicken
In a bowl, mix chicken pieces with olive oil, garlic, and all spices until well coated.
  • Arrange in basket
Place chicken in a single layer (don’t overcrowd, this is key for crispiness).
  • Air fry
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking so the chicken cooks evenly and develops a crispy golden exterior.
  • Serve
Enjoy hot with your favorite dip, over rice, or in wraps.

Notes

  • Tips
Don’t overcrowd the basket (crispy = spaced out)
Add a squeeze of lemon after cooking for extra flavor
Pat the chicken dry before seasoning for better crispiness in the air fryer.
  • Ingredient Notes
    Chicken
Chicken thighs stay extra juicy, but chicken breast works well for a leaner option.

    Olive Oil
Helps the seasoning coat evenly and improves crispiness in the air fryer.

    Garlic
Fresh garlic gives the best flavor, but garlic powder can also work in a pinch.
  • Variations
Honey Garlic Chicken Bites: add 1 tbsp honey + soy sauce
Spicy Chicken Bites: add chili powder + cayenne
Lemon Herb: add lemon juice + thyme
  • Storage Instructions

Store leftover chicken bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

To reheat, air fry at 180°C / 350°F for 3–4 minutes until hot and crispy again.

Can I use chicken thighs instead of chicken breast?
Yes, chicken thighs are slightly juicier and work very well in the air fryer.

How do I know the chicken is fully cooked?
The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 75°C / 165°F and look golden on the outside.

Can I make these chicken bites spicy?
Yes, add extra chili flakes, cayenne pepper, or hot sauce for more heat.

Can I meal prep these chicken bites?
Yes, they store well in the fridge and can be reheated quickly in the air fryer.
